Are you feeling sad inside?

Jesus blesses you

And says you’re in the Kingdom

Jesus, you call us the salt of the earth

Salt to flavor, heal and preserve

Let’s not lose our purpose

When you speak to others,

Be truthful and clear

Say what you mean and mean what you say

When someone hits us or hurts us

Jesus, show us the way

When someone treats us like we don’t matter

Jesus, show us the way

It’s easy to love the people who are nice to us

But what about the people who are mean?

Jesus, we choose to follow you

“This, then, is how you should pray:

‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

We collect so many things

Beautiful things, useful things,

Things we hold on to but don’t know why

Treasures that could be gone in an instant

Lord, fix our eyes on you

God, you will take care of me

I can trust you

God, you will take care of me

You know what I need

God, you will take care of me

If you want to be forgiven,

Forgive others.

If you want people to be generous with you,

Be generous.

God is good

And cares for us

God wants to give us good gifts

And isn’t trying to trick us

God is dependable

And hears us when we pray

Jesus, we’ve been listening to your teaching

Even memorized your words

Did they go in one ear and out the other?

Did some of it sound really hard?
